Due to COVID19, our face to face support groups had to shut for a long time but we are opening up again with Hanham, Yate, Patchway and Staple Hill now open!

CADBURY HEATH OPENING 11TH JULY!

The groups are now drop in with no need to book your place.

Unfortunately on occasion, we may need to close short notice - please check Facebook on Bristol Breastfeeding Mummies and the group for each face to face group before you make the journey (click on the above links to find information for Facebook).

If you have had some time with a Health Visitor and/or Breastfeeding Counsellors at a group, and the health visitor or counsellor feels you would benefit from more dedicated time and consideration, they can make a referral directly for additional support with April Whincop.
Our breastfeeding counsellor 1:1 online bookings are currently unavailable.

The advice from the Royal College of Gynaecologists on breastfeeding and coronavirus is as follows:

In the light of the current evidence, we advise that the benefits of breastfeeding outweigh any potential risks of transmission of the virus through breastmilk.

This guidance may change as knowledge evolves.

For women wishing to breastfeed, precautions should be taken to limit viral spread to the baby:

• Hand washing before touching the baby, breast pump or bottles;
• Try and avoid coughing or sneezing on your baby while feeding at the breast
• Consider wearing a face mask while breastfeeding, if available
• Follow recommendations for pump cleaning after each use;
• Consider asking someone who is well to feed expressed milk to the baby
For women bottle feeding with formula or expressed milk, strict adherence to sterilisation guidelines is recommended. Where mothers are expressing breastmilk in hospital, a dedicated breast pump should be used.
